How to plant: PEPPERS

Highveld and Karoo gardeners, get your green fingers on some pepper seedlings. Now is the perfect time for you to plant both sweet and hot varieties. And with a growth period of 100 days or more, you’ll want to get planting soon.

Follow these steps for a successful process:

  1. Find a sunny spot in your vegetable garden.
  2. Loosen the soil with a garden fork or shovel.
  3. Prepare the soil with Wonder Vita-Boost Organic Vermicompost.
  4. Correct the soil’s pH levels using Wonder Agricultural Lime.
  5. Before planting, mix Wonder Plant Starter All Purpose into the surface layer of the soil.
  6. Plant pepper seedlings 45cm apart from one another at a depth suited to the root size.
  7. Level the soil around the plants and water thoroughly.

How to plant: tomatoes

If you live in an area with coastal winter rainfall like the Western Cape, it’s a great time for you to plant tomatoes. Get growing ASAP, as the plants take around eight weeks to mature from seedlings.

Follow these steps for a successful planting process:

  1. Find a sunny spot in your vegetable garden.
  2. Loosen the soil with a garden fork or shovel.
