A new range of security cameras from Xiaomi

Meet the smart new arrivals making home surveillance simpler for your customers.

Whether you’re upgrading your own property or helping a client secure theirs, Xiaomi’s range of smart security cameras offers a tech-savvy, reliable solution and they’re now available at Builders in-store and online. These new arrivals are easy to install, packed with features and there are ideal options for both indoor and outdoor applications. They are also controllable via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa, as well as the Xiaomi app, which makes them easy to integrate into a customer’s existing smart system.

A great starting point is the Xiaomi C200, a compact indoor smart camera with full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution and smooth 360° horizontal rotation. It connects via WiFi and can be controlled from a smartphone or tablet, allowing live viewing and remote operation from anywhere.

The C200 isn’t just a camera, but has two-way audio too, making it useful for a range of applications, from monitoring a business’s front door to watching over a baby’s room. Xiaomi is known to pack its products with the latest technology, and in this case it is AI-powered human detection, which is able to identify a person moving and track them. The AI is also smart enough not to get triggered by the movement of animals or trees.

Also fitted with Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) support for tricky lighting and infrared night vision with no visible lights that won’t disturb occupants at night, it’s a solid option for small businesses or home users. Footage can be saved to a microSD card or encrypted and saved to the cloud.

Need higher resolution? The C400 is a very similar camera system that includes all the same smart features but has an upgraded sensor to 4MP, enabling it to record in crisp 2.5K resolution. It also includes enhanced audio, making it perfect for environments where clear communication matters.

For outdoor setups, Xiaomi has a few weatherproof camera units. The AW200 is small and inconspicuous but tough and can be used either inside or in full exposure to the elements thanks to an IP65 weatherproof rating. Like the previous two units, it is capable of delivering full 1080 HD video, has AI-powered human motion alerts and two-way audio capabilities. Plus, with full-colour night vision, it’s easier to identify people and activity in low-light conditions. It’s also easy to wall-mount, making it a smart choice for entry points, perimeter walls or small commercial sites.

If your customer needs more detail, the AW300 offers the same rugged build but steps up the weather rating to IP66 and the camera to a 3MP ultra-clear sensor with 2.5K resolution. It also has a stronger speaker system for clear audio at up to 7 metres, and is able to trigger loud alarms and flashing lights to deter intruders. The AW300 is a stylish looking camera that won’t look out of place in a home or office environment.
