It’s a water repellent too.

We recommend two coats of the Fired Earth Velvet Wood. Sure, one might seem enough at first glance, but applying two coats means that you won’t have to repaint for years to come. It also means that future maintenance coats could just require a gentle sanding before reapplication. Remember to wait 24 hours to make sure the first coat is completely dry before applying the second coat.
