Follow these three steps to customise your watering can.
You will need:
1 x First Dutch Brands Galvanised Watering Can (3.5L).
Rust-Oleum Spray Paint Touch 2X Ultra Cover in the colours of your choice from
the range.
1 x roll of medium tack masking tape.
1 x pair protective gloves.
Stencils from Builders.
Cardboard or paper for masking.
Wear a pair of protective gloves. Spray paint the galvanised watering can in a well ventilated area. To get the best result, stick to the recommended spraying distance. To ensure you get full, even coverage, alternate between moving the can from left to right and up and down. Shake the can often, while you are spraying, and let the paint strokes overlap each other to avoid getting stripes.
STEP 2.
The paint must be completely dry before you start stencilling. To get the best result, make sure that the stencil sits flush against the surface. Use medium tack masking tape, and cardboard or paper to mask off the areas you don’t want to paint. If you’re using multiple colours, mask off the areas before adding a new colour, first.
STEP 3.
When the paint is dry, peel the tape and the stencil off. Stand back and admire your handywork. This gifting idea is perfect for the festive season or as a way to add some customised charm to your own gardening shed, and of course, you can decorate the can with anything from flowers to butterflies to your own special phrases.
