A hanging basket can be used for more than just plants. With a pretty paint job and S-hooks, it’s a great utensil hanger … and holder for dish towels.
Materials you will need
- Drill with 6mm masonry drill bit
- Spirit level
- Rust-Oleum Painter’s Touch 2x in the colour of your choice; we used Candy Pink
- Wire hanging basket
- Bracket
- Two nail-in screws and plugs (6 x 45mm) S-hooks

Step 1
Spray the basket and bracket with two coats of Painter’s Touch 2x which is a primer and paint in one.

Step 2
Once the paint is dry, use a spirit level to mark where the bracket will go on the wall. Drill holes and attach the bracket to the wall with the nail-in screws and plugs.

Step 3
Hook the S-hooks onto the basket. Hang utensils from the hooks and store kitchen towels or oven mittens inside the basket.
