Use an old tyre and colourful rope to make this bright and sturdy, eye-catching footstool.

Materials you will need:

  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Jigsaw
  • G-clamps
  • Electric screwdriver
  • Old tyre
  • 2 ski ropes or any rope of your choice
  • Hardboard 915 x 1 220 mm
  • No More Nails adhesive
  • 75 cut screws 4,5 x 40 mm
  • 3 aluminium legs

Step 1

Place the tyre on the hardboard and mark the size of the inside. Use a ruler to mark 5 cm bigger than this circle. Use the jigsaw to cut out the bigger circle.

Step 2

Fix the hardboard to the tyre with No More Nails adhesive.

Step 3

Mark the centre on the hardboard.

Step 4

Glue the rope down on the hardboard and the tyre with No More Nails. Start in the centre and coil the rope, covering the hardboard and the tyre.

Step 5

Place the aluminium legs at the base of the tyre. Measure the space between the legs so they’re evenly spaced.

Step 6

Secure in place with cut screws.
