Use a plastic bottle and some household ingredients to make an eco-friendly fly trap.
You will need:
- An empty plastic bottle (2l)
- Scissors
- Syrup
- Apple cider vinegar
- Water
- Meat scraps(the stinkier the better!)
Step 1
Cut the bottle top of just before the neck of the bottle.
Step 2
Add a bit of syrup, apple cider vinegar, water and meat scraps to the bottle.
Step 3
Give it a swirl and then press the top of the bottle upside down and into the base.
Step 4
Place the trap away from the pets and preferably under cover. If the ingredients start to dry out add a little water.
After a day or two the bait will start to smell, attracting the flies and trapping them in the bottle.
