Just because you don’t have electricity doesn’t mean you can’t have Wi-Fi!

Lalela Wi-Fi UPS
Loadshedding has become a part of our daily lives, especially in areas where power outages are common. Many of us rely heavily on the Internet for communication, work and entertainment, so losing internet connectivity during loadshedding can be frustrating. However, there is a solution that can keep you connected even when the power goes out – the Lalela Wi-Fi UPS, an uninterrupted power supply that keeps the Wi-Fi working.

Your Wi-Fi requires two pieces of equipment: the router and the ONT (Optical Network Terminal). The Lalela Wi-Fi UPS powers both of these with a built-in lithium-ion battery. It has a 13,400 mAh lithium-ion battery that can power a single device such as a router, for up to eight hours, or both your router and ONT for up to four hours. The lithium-ion battery charges quickly, typically taking just under four hours to charge fully, making it suitable even for extended power outages during stage six loadshedding.

Setting up the Lalela Wi-Fi UPS is easy. Simply switch off and remove the power supplies that currently power your router and ONT. Note the output voltage of each power supply and connect the appropriate DC adapter plugs to the inputs on both your router and ONT. The Lalela UPS has both 9 V and 12 V outputs, so make sure to use the correct one for your devices.

Once you’ve connected the Lalela UPS, press and hold the power button to switch it on. Even without being plugged into the mains supply, you’ll see that your router and ONT are powered by the built-in lithium-ion battery, which ensures uninterrupted connectivity in case of a power failure. When you plug the UPS back into the mains supply, the battery will start charging automatically.

One of the convenient features of the Lalela UPS is its 5 V USB outlet, which allows the charging of mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets even during loadshedding. Additionally, the POE (Power Over Ethernet) port of the UPS can be adjusted between 15 V and 24 V, which makes it compatible with various POE devices like remote access points or VOIP phones. However, it’s important to note that the more devices you run off the Lalela UPS, the shorter the runtime will be, as it depends on the load your equipment is drawing.

Safety is a top priority with the Lalela UPS, as it has built-in protection against overcharge, discharge, overload and short circuiting. However, if the device runs flat after a prolonged outage, you will need to switch it on manually by pressing and holding the power button once the power has returned.

In addition to the UPS, Lalela also offers a portable Laptop Power Bank, which is designed specifically for laptops, but can also charge mobile phones. This makes it a great companion for the UPS and ensures that nyou can stay connected and powered up even during loadshedding.
