How to correctly drill through tiles

Step 1

Apply some masking tape to the area where you need to drill. The tape will help prevent the drill bit from wandering.

Step 2

Use the brackets to mark the position of the holes. Use an envelope or folded paper stuck to the wall just below the hole to catch the dust.

Step 3

When drilling, use the normal drill mode and not the hammer mode, which will crack your tiles.

Step 4

Drill slowly through the tile. Stop regularly to cool the drill bit in water.

Step 5

Once through the tile, change to hammer mode and drill as usual.

Step 6

Remove the masking tape, insert your wall plugs and fasten the fixtures.
